Do I need a referral for appointments with:
Sports Medicine Doctor?
Normally, no referral is needed to see Dr. Lee or Dr. Duke. However, if you have seen your family physician for the current issue, you are asking for a second opinion, in which case your family physician will need to give you a referral.
Dr. Lee is a GP with Focused Practice designation so his appointments do not affect your family doctor's OHIP billing. Our sports Medicine Physicians would prefer that you see your family doctor first for a referral, but it is not a requirement.
Dr. Dittmer, our physiatrist, sees patients only by referral and his pre-approval.
Naturopathic Doctor?
No referral is needed for appointments to be booked with Dr. Tina Rogers, but check with your insurance provided in case they require a doctor's referral for reimbursement of fees.
Physiotherapist?
No referral is needed for physiotherapy appointments to be booked with any of the PTs at University Square Plaza or RIM Park, but check with your insurance provider in case they require a doctor's referral for reimbursement of fees.
Massage Therapist?
No referral is needed for massage therapy appointments to be booked with any of the RMTs at University Square Plaza or at RIM Park, but check with your insurance provider in case they require a doctor's referral for reimbursement of fees.
Pedorthist?
No referral is needed for appointments with Michelle McCrory to be booked, but check with your insurance provider in case they require a doctor's referral for reimbursement of fees.
Occupational Therapist for hand splinting?
Normally a referral is not needed to see Karen Pal. However, for hand splinting for any fractures, a referral from a doctor (not nurse practitioner or chiropractor) is needed. X-rays should be brought to the appointments. Check with your insurance provider in case they require a doctor's referral for reimbursement of fees.
