Alex Mineo

BSc Kin, MPT

Alex completed her bachelor of science in Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario in 2012. She then went on to complete her Masters of Physiotherapy at Queen’s University in 2015.

Sports have played a large role in Alex’s life. She played soccer and field hockey in high school and has played competitive soccer since she was young. During her time at Western, Alex was the student athletic trainer for the women’s rugby team where she developed a passion for treating sports injuries. 

Alex places high priority on continuing education. She is currently in the process of completing her Level 2 courses in Manual Therapy. In the future, Alex plans to progress through subsequent Manual Therapy levels as well as a certification in acupuncture.

In her free time, she loves to stay active by playing soccer and ultimate Frisbee.

Karen Howieson is now trained facilitators of the FIFA 11+, a complete warm-up to prevent injury program. Any team under the umbrella of the Ontario Soccer Association in the Waterloo Region can contact Karen to facilitate the learning of this program.

Physiotherapists who are Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) have completed extensive post-graduate education in the area of orthopaedics and have achieved internationally-recognized qualifications in hands-on manual and manipulative therapy.
