Jessica Carter

Jessica completed her undergraduate bachelor of science in Kinesiology degree at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2013. She then went on to complete her masters of Physiotherapy degree at McMaster University in 2015.

Jessica has been heavily involved in sports throughout her life, participating in soccer, cross-country running, track and field, swimming and field hockey in high school. The majority of her experience is with soccer, playing competitively since she was young. Jessica played five years of varsity Women’s Soccer at Wilfrid Laurier University.

With daily exposure and involvement in sports, she developed an early desire to pursue a career in physiotherapy. Having experienced a variety of knee injuries throughout the years, Jessica has developed a special interest in knee conditions and the biomechanics of the joint through movement.

Jessica is in the process of completing her level 1 manual therapy level and plans to progress through the accreditation process for subsequent manual therapy levels and acupuncture.

In her free time, she loves to stay active through running, playing soccer and taking her two dogs for a walk.

Karen Howieson is now trained facilitators of the FIFA 11+, a complete warm-up to prevent injury program. Any team under the umbrella of the Ontario Soccer Association in the Waterloo Region can contact Karen to facilitate the learning of this program.

Physiotherapists who are Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) have completed extensive post-graduate education in the area of orthopaedics and have achieved internationally-recognized qualifications in hands-on manual and manipulative therapy.
