Nancy Howden,  RMT.

Nancy graduated from the University of Toronto in 1993, and from the Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy where she specialized in Sports Massage and received two Outstanding Achievement awards for her academic and clinical work. While at the University of Toronto, Nancy earned Female Athlete of the Year and MVP awards from her college, and later became head of the college’s Co-ed Athletic Commission. Today, Nancy participates in the alumni association’s Mentorship Program as an active mentor to fourth-year students.

Nancy’s primary focus is on the assessment and treatment of soft tissue and joints, with a special interest in massage and osteopathic techniques for athletes, professionals, and people in the performing arts. Her ongoing commitment to these interests is demonstrated through Nancy’s outreaches with the University of Guelph Cross Country Team (three-time National Varsity Champions), with the region’s urban professionals, and with Centre In The Square’s performing artists.

Nancy joined the Waterloo Sports Medicine team in 2007. She is pursuing her Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice part time at the Canadian College of Osteopathy in Toronto, and was recently approached to assist in a local university research study which will measure the effectiveness of manual therapies on repetitive muscle strain. A former half-marathoner, Nancy plays soccer and tennis and enjoys every form of skiing imaginable.
