  Shannon Nicholson - Firefighter
 Shannon Nicholson - Firefighter
Last year when I was diagnosed with compartment syndrome, my goal of becoming a firefighter seemed unattainable. To obtain the job, I had to complete a rigorous fitness test within 12 weeks of the diagnosis. This was an obstacle as my doctor instructed me to cease running for that time and advised me to consult Charlotte Littlejohn of STARS to assist me with a program that would maintain my fitness level. Without the assistance of STARS I may not have been able to reach my goal of becoming a firefighter. Thanks again for your dedication and hard work!

only place I really felt the staff was committed to returning me to competitive skydiving." says Rocky.  "Everyone else felt the best I could hope for was to merely walk again.  I could not have realized my dreams without the helpful staff at WSM."

"I have played competitive hockey in Waterloo for 8 yrs. and was recently drafted by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the OHL.  While playing in a semi-final, my skate caught in a rut in the ice causing a severely sprained ankle.  Dr. Lee and Mike Clermont were able to quickly assess my injury and told me that the recovery time would be 6 to 8 weeks.  With Mike's knowledge and assistance with treatments, they got me "back in the game" in less than 4 weeks. Thanks to WSM for your expert care which allowed me to return quickly to the sport I love to play!"
