Karen grew up playing both soccer and hockey competitively. She played two years of varsity women’s soccer while in university, each year being named an Academic All-Canadian student-athlete. Her interest in the field of physiotherapy began from her own experiences of the rehab process after two ACL-reconstruction knee surgeries.

Karen is now a trained facilitator of FIFA 11+, a complete warm-up to prevent injury program. Any youth team under the umbrella of the Ontario Soccer Association in the Waterloo Region can contact Karen to facilitate the learning of this program.
In her free time, Karen enjoys walking local trails with her family and their dog Ruby, playing hockey, skiing, snowboarding, and learning to golf.
