Sports Medicine
Though we have temporarily closed our doors to the clinic as we face this public health crisis together, WSM is able to offer both phone and virtual consults with our Sports Medicine Physicians. During these consults our Sports Medicine Physicians will be able to diagnose your injury, order imaging if required, advise on how to manage your pain and symptoms, and prescribe therapy or bracing as needed. Please call the clinic for more information or to book an appointment.
All the sports medicine physicians at Waterloo Sports Medicine Centre have specialized training and certification with the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine (CASEM). They have extensive experience and skills in the care of active individuals of all ages and competitive levels. They are able to not only diagnose and treat sports and exercise-related injuries, but also provide patients the appropriate advice, resources and guidance to promote a lifelong interest in exercise, physical activity, health promotion, injury and disease prevention.

Sport medicine physicians are able to assist in the care of sports injuries, sprains, strains, sports-related concussions, and other muscle and joint problems including osteoarthritis, tendonitis, and other overuse conditions.

Waterloo Sports Medicine Centre strongly believes in an integrated approach to patient care. The sports medicine physicians collaborate with physiotherapists, massage therapists, pedorthists, naturopathic doctors, and other healthcare practitioners. They are knowledgeable about rehabilitation, bracing, and splinting of injuries.

Sports medicine physicians bridge the gap between the family physician and the orthopaedic surgeon or other specialists. Your family doctor can refer you to a sport medicine physician at WSM.
