Dr Robert Lee, Sport Medicine Physician

Dr. Lee has been a sports medicine specialist for over 30 years. Following his medical training at the University of Toronto, Dr. Lee completed a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Western Ontario in London. He was one of the first recipients of the Canadian Academy of Sports Medicine Diploma, which recognizes proficiency in sports medicine training.

In 1996, after five years at the University of Western Ontario's Fowler-Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic, he moved to the K-W area and joined Waterloo Sports Medicine Centre.  His patients range from weekend warriors playing recreational sports to competitive elite and professional athletes. He patients range in age from young children, to seniors in their 60s and 70s who are interested in maintaining an active lifestyle.

Dr. Lee has an active interest in teaching and has academic appointments as assistant Clinical Professor (adjunct) with the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University and Clinical Preceptor with the Department of Family Medicine at Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Western University 

 

Dr. Lee is also a musician, a pianist and vocal accompanist, performing for musical theatre organizations like Kitchener Waterloo Musical Productions. Thus Dr. Lee also has a special interest in performing arts medicine, treating  musicians, dancers and actors, in order to get them back performing and on stage as quickly and safely as possible.  

​

To stay active himself, Dr. Lee plays tennis regularly, does yoga weekly and runs half marathons.
