Robyn Ibey

HBSc, MScPT, MCPA

Robyn obtained her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto (2009), after having completed her Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Biology and Psychology from the University of Waterloo (2007).

As a practicing Physiotherapist, Robyn’s focus is Orthopedics/Sports Medicine and Neuroscience, with an interest in concussion management. Currently pursuing her PhD, Robyn is specializing in Neuroscience under the supervision of Dr. Richard Staines at the University of Waterloo. She has recently become involved in concussion projects which examine varsity athletes both pre- and post- concussion.

Robyn is presently working to receive her certification in Acupuncture, as well as her Sports Certificate, and has started courses in pursuit of her manual and manipulative therapy levels. She continues to volunteer at various sporting events in her spare time and also provides sports coverage for local tournaments hosted by University of Waterloo varsity teams.

In addition, Robyn is an invited lecturer at University of Waterloo in sport-related injury courses.
Growing up in Thunder Bay, Robyn was a dancer and participated in extramural volleyball and soccer. She played both indoor and beach volleyball in university and continues to enjoy both sports in her spare time, along with jogging and spinning.

Rob Stuart gave an interactive talk to a Bluevale Collegiate Kinesiology class on January 16, 2012. They talked about Rob's career path from Kin, then Rob used a Functional Movement Screen to measure their flexion, squat and active SLR (comparisons) and then vertical jump. Students said it was one of the few talks where there was an active component. 

Rob will be providing an injury prevention and concussion awareness workshop for Kitchener Minor Baseball on Sunday March 18th at Budd Park

Rob has just been asked to help the Kitchener Dutchmen Jr B team in their training program.
